Can burn wood all day, no smell, does a great jobI rushed into an Ortur LM2 pro purchase, thinking it was the most affordable and best rated laser out there, and while that was true, I failed to account for all the peripherals I would need such as a proper enclosure, ventilation, air assist etc. When I realized I needed an enclosure, I debated heavily between buying a generic case, making one, or buying this one. Ultimately I got this one after deciding I didn't want to spend anymore of my free time building something from scratch, or gambling anf tinkering with something that may not fit the bill. My logic may or may not apply to you.It arrived quickly and as was the same with the laser, assembly was relatively confusing with some peaks of frustration but ultimately doable. I had a helper reading instructions and we also played the YT video, pausing for each step. Still got a few things wrong and had to rework a step or two.Now that it's assembled and I've used it a few hours, I'm super happy with my purchase. It's solid and most importantly feels very safe. Im lasering in a spare room with a vent outfitted to a window.I do wish it came with some spare hardware so I could fit the focusing piece on the outside and otherwise want to install some peripheral storage on the outside of the unit for all those bits and bobs...First the draw backs. 1- the instruction to assemble the product are completely useless. Easier to follow a YouTube video to assemble. 2- some of the screws are hard to get at to tighten unless you have a pair of needle nose pliers. 3- the exhaust fan power supply needs an outlet. Would have been nicer if Ortur would have designed it to be plugged into the laser power supply. 4- the enclosure makes it hard to clean all the parts of the laser. 5- needed to be designed to be used as a "lid". Let me explain, I would have liked it if I could easily lift the entire enclosure off the laser bed without having to unassembled half of the enclosure to get access to clean, to change my waste board, and to be able to use the rotary tool. And lastly, the cost factor. It's pricey for what you get. I think they need to offer a package deal and lower the cost. This will happen real quickly, as there is a new product that has been released that creates a "tent" like enclosure for around $70 (don't quote me on that).Now the pros. It keeps the dust from floating throughout my room. It allows a better way to exhaust the fumes out of the house. And it helps with containing the laser light, glasses are still needed. Nice design for those that like things to look great.Good basic enclosure. Many parts. Assembly is a little difficult with screws and nuts in tight corners but not unreasonable. Fan is ok but I would like it to be a little stronger and perhaps vent to the side rather than the rear of the unit. It could be easier to level the laser unit inside enclosure, as it comes the laser doesn’t sit quite level and requires my cutting bed to be shimmed about 2mm on one side. Overall a metal enclosure is much safer than wood and the material is heavy duty with a nice powdered finish. No modifications were needed for assembly and the instructions available on the manufacturers website are good. Price is more than a diy enclosure but the fit and finish is worth it and it’s easily modified.I really love the way this product was packaged and how easy it was to assemble based on the video available on the Ortur website. It was well-engineered and works perfectly for our laser machine! Love it!This enclosure is solid after assembly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is there is no provision for the rotary to be used. You would have to remove the floor and raise the enclosure or make a table that could lower the floor to use the rotary attachment.Pros:*Ramps up the comfort level, as far as safety goes.*Goes together pretty well.Cons:*Your Ortur Laser becomes a prisoner.*The laser and enclosure become tied at the hip.*When/if you have to tinker with the laser, the enclosure becomes a real obstacle.*Way overpriced.That being said, I bought it for the level of eye safety it provides, and that it does.One more thing. Throw away the safety glasses that were included with you laser machine, and get a good pair...you only have one pair of eyes!It contained all the smoke from my laser and definitely helped keep my eyes safe
