was looking for a "stop" to correctly locate my vehicles inside my garage. I had tried "wheel stops", but ended up tripping over them. I found this Laser Park on Amazon and was impressed with the comments. It came very quickly and here are some of my thoughts.Due to some of the Amazon comments that "one of the lasers didn't last long or was very weak", I tested it in my kitchen for several hours to insure it was working as promised. After reading the instructions, I then mounted in the the ceiling about half way between the driver seats. I picked a location that was about 90 degrees to the windshield, hoping to reduce reflection. I saw that the instructions said not to use the double sided tape on ceiling mounts, but I wanted to test the location before permanently attaching it with screws.I like that the base can go up first, and then you mount the laser. It was easy to install and I had plenty of power cord to reach the nearest receptacle. I then parked both vehicles in their spaces to adjust the lasers. As I attempted to rotate each laser dot to land on the dashboards near the steering wheel. But as I moved the lasers to their extreme, the ball would pop out of its socket. With some effort, I was able to re-insert the lasers, but found that I did not have as much angular travel as I needed. I studied the angle and saw if I could move the laser base back, It would increase the distance where the laser intersected the hood/dashboard.Here is where I discovered my error of using the tape. I lost some paint trying to get the base off. That was my mistake and I will repair that soon. Now that the laser was in the second location, I again tried to gently adjust the location of the laser dot on each car. As before, any adjustment to the extreme, not matter how gently, causes the ball to come out of the socket. With the laser at the best angle I could get it, the "dot" would not extend into the dashboard. I had to settle for it landing somewhere on car hood. I now have to remember that location of each vehicle when parking.I can try moving the base a third time, but as you can see in the pictures, the power cord is at its max. That would mean an extension cord running across the ceiling and I'm not excited about that.I did email MACSA with this problem and they got back to me very quickly. They stated that they knew about the problem and was working on it. They offered to sell me a second one (at a discount) and it came in white. It’s still working as promised, but I have to be satisfied with the dots landing on my car hoods.I was very skeptical before I purchased this, I've seen them in people's homes and assume they had to work. Otherwise why would they have them? The other day I got out of my car and almost slammed the door into a lawn mower... That was enough for me, I am apparently incapable of parking my car in a consistent manner so I looked this up. I wasn't surprised when I saw thousands of positive reviews, it took me all of 10 seconds to hook this up and it works like a charm. I can't believe I waited this long to get pick one upWorks well. I just wish the lasers would have more travel to the sides. With two cars could only aim it on passenger side of one car and driver side of other car. Would have liked it to reach at least the midline of both cars.Initially I tried to save some money by buying a cheaper product that rarely detected my car pulling into the garage. This one sees the car every time and turns on the laser to assist in hitting the right parking location. The dual laser's burnt out after 6 months of regular use in a 2 car garage. Mounted with screws in the ceiling, and the AC Power Adapter was used as the power source the entire time. We did enjoy this product and never had any issues out of it while parking. I ordered the same model at the time of writing this review ( May 30, 2022). Hopefully I will get more than 6 months out of the lasers this time around.Bought this gadget to keep the wife from “overparking” the car in the garage.I have tried a tennis ball, a rubber bumper, swimming noodles, etc.……even bicycle handlebar streamers, everything and anything short of runway landing lights.Once the light is calibrated to your chosen spot on the windshield, dashboard, or her eyes, parking is easy-peasy.We had one (brand unknown) at our old house and wanted it again. Takes the guesswork out of knowing if you are in the garage far enough. And, nothing on the floor to trip over when the car isn’t there. Works great, easy to install.I have this mounted on ceiling in garage. It wasn’t very hard to adjust for both vehicles. My only complaint is this. If you pull in slow as we do, sometimes the laser does NOT come on. Also my truck is on the right side and it shows only a very small red dot so I have trouble seeing it many times. In my wife’s car the light is rectangular and much more visible. Other than those 2 items I’m very happy for the most part.I have a two-car garage with double doors. I was able to mount this unit easily. It seems to work just fine. Very happy so far, so we'll see how this holds up over time. I like the idea that there's a mounting plate (see comment below on using a #6 drywall screw-anchor).I just wanted to react to a bunch of comments. Related to positioning, a few of the reviews indicated that the laser is a bit stiff to move. This is true, although it was okay for me, and I love the idea that it will stay exactly where I point it. You don't want this moving around, so stiff is just perfect. I did not find that the rotational range was an issue at all. You need to mount it somewhere between the hood and windshield of your cars; if you do this, the range of positioning is just fine. Relating to size, it's just the right size. There are a bunch of reviews that seem to suggest there is no AC adapter. Odd, this whole thing comes in a plastic, fitted package. It contains an AC adapter, and the dual pointer has a 9 ft cable length. Some reviewers seem to suggest it dies when on battery. Yeah, uh, because it needs to be connected to an AC adapter for regular use. Super weird. And, somebody complained about the screws. Seriously? One consideration here is that the mounting plate has a recessed portion for the screw head, but it's shallow. But, pro tip: Use a proper drywall screw anchor #6, and the provided screws work well.Update: Amazon decided to accept the return and refund the product. Impressive. Five stars for Amazon!Product Review:The product is ok. Easy to install. The laser lasts for 10 sec only and you cannot change it.I tried to return it because I was not happy with the 10 seconds limit but I discovered that it is not returnable. It is really misleading from the seller not to make it clear that you cannot return the product.Ok. I cannot give this 5 stars because although the shipping was fast, installation was easy the functionality of this was actually not very good. IF you buy this be aware that it isn't perfect. You might want to buy two if you have a 2 car garage. I noticed right away those lasers are not as adjustable as you think and if you try they pop out of their socket also if your car is not driving within 1 or 2 feet in front of this motion detector it does NOT turn on the lasers. My daughter was relying on the laser thinking in her mind 'stop when you see the laser at X spot on the dashboard' and bumped into the shelf in my garage because of this problem. Thank God no damage to anything but still it's something I was trying to avoid by buying this product. Educate the user that they MUST look up to see if the laser turned. This is a handy thing for the garage. Mine is a two-car garage with twin doors. Part of it doubles as a woodworking shop. In the good weather, I usually leave one or both cars in the garage. But for winter, I park my woodworking equipment at the back of the garage so I can squeeze the cars in. This unit lets me set a different position for each car. All I have to do is drive in and position where the laser hits a mark on the dash. One thing not included with the unit is a set of marking spots for you car. I used little stick-on circles you can buy at the dollar store and just positioned them on a flat part in the center of the dash. That way, I could easily tell if I was left or right of the optimal spot, or too far forward or backward. The big advantage for me is that in summer I don't have to worry about colliding with tennis balls I've hung from the ceiling when I'm working in the garage! The lasers come on by motion sensor, and I can always unplug the unit if I don't need it for awhile. The AC adaptor has a good long line so it's easy to run it from your outlet by the garage door opening to an optimal ceiling location just ahead of the cars. It also has a battery backup.I was hesitant about the reviews that indicated the lasers were hard to adjust. They are a little stiff to move, but you just need to take a bit of time to get it right. I was able to pull both vehicles in the garage and then from the top of the ladder adjust the lasers so that they hit the spots I wanted for each vehicle. If I had one complaint it would be that the motion sensor seems to not be quite sensitive enough so if you drive in very slowly, it does not pick up the movement and the laser doesn't come on. Other than that - seems fine (and no more tennis ball).
