The sidewalks are made of a fiber material that warps when painted with water based paint. Caution must be taken to weight the item after painting. Painting both sides also helps reduce the warping. An advantage of the shrinking surface is cracks show up very well and look realistic. Care should also be taken to ensure the curb is on the correct side of the walk when adhering to the layout. I didn't use the corner pieces as that would be a bit too contemporary for my era. They are thick so getting lawn to the right height is also a consideration. All in all, this serves the task very well after these considerations.
